Ida Engberg & David West – Supercluster

Supercluster (David West Mix)

Ida Engberg, especially known for her track ‘Disco Volante’, and David West, known for in my opinion genius tracks like Make U Mine, Suffering Island, Hello Piano and many more, teamed up, and the result is the track Supercluster. They both made their own version of the track, clearly hearing their own style in through the song.

Review

1. Supercluster (Ida Engberg Mix)

It’s a little bit less melody orientated as the David West mix, but this one is more energetic. The kickdrum keeps repeating almost the whole song, and it sounds pretty good. Little melody variations make sure the track doesn’t get to boring. The break could be done better in my opinion, but overall it’s quite a good track.

2. Supercluster (David West Mix)

This one is a bit more melody orientated, and is in my opinion nicer to listen to. It has more variations in melody and other parts of the song like the kickdrum and baseline. You can clearly hear a David West style here, but definitely isn’t repetitive compared to other songs from him. It has a more deeper kick than the Ida Engberg mix, which sounds quite good. The break is also nicely done, it has a bit more energy than the Ida Engberg mix.

3. Supercluster (Tiger Stripes Remix)

I won’t talk a lot about this one, it has nice deep kickdrum, and it’s quite nice to listen to, but there’s nothing special in it.

I like this release a lot, especially the David West mix. I would give it a 4/5 rating.
