We wanted to create a new trance community which would be better than trance.nu. Unfortunately, due lack of time and interest, this domain, en-trance.org displayed a splash image saying we would go online in 2007 for almost 2 years. But, a few months ago, we decided to do something with our domain, so we set up this blog.

We started this blog at the end of April, and in May, we already got a total of almost 1000 unique visitors, and for a first month, I think that's a pretty nice number :) And because of these nice results, we're motivated to continue with or original plan, a big ass trance community.

]]> Of course, we’ll keep the news and reviews. But we’ll be adding a LOT more features to the site, the main part of En-Trance will be the release and track database, containing all sorts of information about a specific release, track or artist, like lyrics, reviews, release dates, labels etc. Possibility for integration with last.fm to provide additional info.

Then, an other important part of the site will be the livesets database: here users can add livesets, including playlists and a download link. Tracks in the playlist will be automaticly linked to our track database, so you can directly see all sorts of information of the track. Also you can vote on your favorite track of that liveset, so you can see which track is the most popular.

Users registered at en-trance v2 have the possibility to enter their Last.FM user name, and based on the most plays, votes and track info page views, we’ll calculate a weekly En-Trance top tracks, so you’ll always know which tracks are hot at the moment.

And if that’s not enough, discussion forums will also be included of course :)

There’s no real finished schedule for v2, but expect the next version of en-trance this year :)
